Featured in the April TOWN Magazine, these beautiful spring custom jewelry pieces glow like a pearl in the sunlight.
The first necklace, which is titled “Gold Flowers”, consists of a modullyn™ necklace and clasp embedded into the design. A strand of 274.43ctw, hand cut rondelle shaped rutilated quartz beads, with 18k yellow gold nittel parts. The focus centerpiece is a 15.5mm Tahitian pearl with a Maki-e 24k gold enamel design and 18k yellow gold modullyn™ clasp.
The second necklace, named “Pink Flowers”, consists of a modullyn™ necklace and clasp. The necklace consists of 120 carats of hand-hammered rhodochrosite from Argentina. The centerpiece is a 15.8mm Tahitian pearl with a Maki-e 24k gold enamel design and an 18k rose gold modullyn™ clasp.
Each of the necklaces was specifically designed by llyn strong with elegant artistic details to capture the beauty of spring. llyn selected the two gemstone strands, then they were fitted with nittel keys and strung on silk cord, knotting between each bead, so they work with any modullyn™ clasp. Then, llyn selected the Tahitian pearls for their beautiful color, luster, and Maki-e 24k gold enamel designs, they were fitted with nittels so they can be worn with any modullyn™ necklace.
Lastly, the pearl ring which was made out of 18k rose gold set with one 10.75mm round peach freshwater pearl with “Klimt” inspired patterns in the shank. This ring is part of a collection inspired by llyn’s favorite painter Gustav Klimt. The freshwater pearl was selected for its peach color, luster, and size. llyn created a sketch and Kate built the ring in a CAD program. A wax model was then grown (printed) over-night on our Solidscape 3D wax printer, sprued and invested, burnt-out in a kiln overnight, and cast in 18k rose gold. The casting was then sanded, polished, and cleaned. Lastly the pearl was securely set into the ring.
Each of these enchanting custom jewelry masterpieces has been captured perfectly by llyn strong.
