Everyone who commissions a custom piece with the llyn strong team will be worked with several times throughout the process to make sure the piece is a perfect fit artistically, technically, and personally. Allow the team to take you on a journey from initial consultation to 3D rendering, castings, and finally a beautiful one-of-a-kind piece of jewelry appraised by our Graduate Gemologist. Use stones you already have or allow our gemologist to source high quality diamonds and colored gemstones perfectly suited to your taste and lifestyle. Each piece is thoughtfully and artistically crafted to your style culminating in a piece that is sentimental as well as long-lasting.
The creative process begins when you meet with the llyn strong team to talk about your ideas for your custom jewelry piece. Whether your piece is for you or a gift for another, we’ll discuss the personality and preferences of the wearer. You’ll also talk about style, size, gemstone selection(s), and any personal gemstones you’d like incorporated. At this meeting, you will be provided with a few thumbnail sketches and an estimate for your consideration.
At this step, you will confirm all your selections for the design, materials and cost of your custom piece. A non-refundable deposit will be required at this time. Depending on the intricacy of the piece, the process will take from 3 to 12 weeks to complete.
All of the design details of your custom piece will be fine-tuned in our CAD (Computer Aided Design) software. You’ll be shown a realistic color rendering of your jewelry that will give you a good idea of what the finished piece will look like. At this point, you also can determine if there are any changes necessary before the model is made. Note: Most of our custom pieces are made utilizing CAD software; however, our fabricated pieces will not include this step.
You’ve approved the CAD rendering, a model has been made and your custom piece has been cast. At this time, you are invited to view and try on this casting before any stones are set and the piece receives its final finish. This is highly recommended, enabling you to review the design and the actual size of your piece.
Viola! Your custom-designed, fine art jewelry piece is complete. As an added value, you will receive a written appraisal and photograph of your piece from our in house Graduate Gemologist, Sydney Strong. Final payment is now due and you may pick up your piece in store or have it securely shipped.
