This year’s four-day event was no exception! Sydney, llyn and the llyn strong team hosted approximately 80 customers -some who attend every gemstone event as well as many that enjoyed the roundtable for the first time.

Here’s our Top 5 Recap of what you missed!

1-Peachy pinks and reds seemed to be the color of the event, such as garnets, tourmalines, precious topaz and zircon.

2-Mixed-shaped sapphires in rainbow colors or in a variation of blues and greens showed out. The mix of shapes included ovals, marquis, round, cushion and even small heart shapes.

3-Rich coppery colored pearls (with purples and pinks) were a big hit and easy to wear everyday – not your grandmother’s pearls!

4-Another favorite was our Maki-e’ pearls. Maki-e’ pearls are a type of Tahitian pearls that have been enhanced in Japan using a traditional decorative technique. Rather than being valued for its natural surface alone, the pearl becomes a miniature canvas-its lustrous nacre adorned with intricate designs using thin layers of lacquer (urushi) with powdered gold, silver and sometimes abalone shell.

5-Larry Woods’ cut stones are always a hit. He is a Texas stone cutter that has developed his own unusual and creative styles of cutting such as the “Medicine Wheel” and “Four Corners” styles.
