Kate

Kate Lowrey, our CAD Technician at llyn strong, shared some of her thought process when creating custom jewelry for herself. She is attracted to geometric shapes and edgier designs evidenced in her favorite earrings – hexagon shaped black rose cut diamonds paired with green quartz hexagon shaped earring jackets. They are set in oxidized silver and 18K yellow gold. Kate’s favorite ring is a very cool marquis-shaped lilac amethyst with a natural edge set in a two-finger ring. It takes two fingers to accommodate the size of the ring. Kate is a petite girl but is not afraid to wear larger jewelry. She created a stunning cuff bracelet using stones she collected on her first trip to Tucson, AZ which hosts the world’s largest gem shows. Matching those with a larger oval peach tourmaline completed the piece. Kate’s jewelry tells her stories and is a great reflection of her personality! Her engagement ring which features a kite-shaped rose cut diamond was designed by Sydney Strong. When Kate did the CAD, she had no idea it would one day become her engagement ring!
Erin

Erin Stuart, our head goldsmith, has a quiet demeanor, but speaks boldly through her designs! Erin creates her own line of jewelry which is available at llyn strong on 1322 E. Washington St. in downtown Greenville, SC or online at llynstrong.com. Her style has a nice balance between beauty and durability. The ease and wearability of her own jewelry is very important as she works with her hands daily. Erin’s favorite earrings are her oxidized sterling silver and 14K yellow gold circle studs customized by adding prong set faceted yellow sapphires offset inside the circles. She is attracted to balanced asymmetry and leans slightly more to geometric designs! Although, when it comes to stones, she likes more organic stones that show natural growth lines and matrix. Her favorite cuff bracelet is a simple design made with oxidized sterling silver fused with 24K yellow gold shapes. Erin is now in the process of creating a new cuff with a rose cut yellowish sapphire, 2 gray spinels and possibly adding black diamond accents.
Faron

Faron Justice, one of the wonderful goldsmiths at llyn strong and a stone setting “wiz,” loves pink …and fantasy animals! She is attracted to Morganites, pink sapphires, pink to rosy tourmalines and of course 18K rose gold. Rings are her favorite type of jewelry, and her new favorite ring is her “Dancing Dragon” ring set with a rosy colored Malaysian garnet set in 18K yellow gold. Faron likes to name some of the pieces in her collection, such as her stunning “Sun Dragon” cuff bracelet made with oxidized sterling silver with two 24K yellow gold Chinese dragons surrounding a Tom Trozzo fantasy cut tourmaline and, of course,18K rose gold! She loves animals of all kinds so naturally, during one of the Gemstone Roundtables at llyn strong, she purchased a moonstone carving of a snake and dreams of one day making it into a pendant. Dreaming about jewelry, how wonderful!
Azniv

Azniv Chorbadjian, our newest goldsmith at llyn strong fine art jewelry, is inspired by nature which is evident in her botanical jewelry designs. Her favorite stones are sapphires, mainly purples and greens, and her favorite metals are oxidized sterling silver and 18K yellow and rose gold. She recently selected the stone for her engagement ring, a fantasy cut purple sapphire. The stone was cut by Larry Woods in his proprietary “Four Directions” cut. It is beautiful and fortunately, Noah, her fiancée, loves purple as well! Azniv also designed and created the mounting for her perfect stone. It is a fantastical, lily-inspired ring with dragonflies in the under gallery made in 18K rose gold. The first custom piece of jewelry Azniv made for herself was a poppy seed pod necklace. Recently, she purchased a rutilated quartz stone at one of our Gemstone Roundtables to use as the focal point of a cuff bracelet. It is set in 18K yellow gold on an oxidized sterling silver cuff with branch patterns and a secret bird on the side.
